Who’s ready for a cozy and delicious breakfast in bed? This year, start off this day of love by creating a Valentine’s Day breakfast board filled with all of your favorite breakfast treats! This simple-to-assemble breakfast charcuterie board is the perfect way to celebrate this love-filled day!

Why we love this Valentines Day Breakfast Board

Whether you’re spending the day with your significant other, friends, or family, a Valentine’s Day breakfast board is a delightful way to start the day! This thoughtful Valentine’s day breakfast is one that you can enjoy together while you and your loved ones exchange sweet messages and gifts. The best part is you can stay in your pajamas to enjoy it, too!

Key Ingredients for this Breakfast board

Heart-shaped waffles

These heart shaped waffles were made with a heart-shaped waffle maker, but can be achieved with making regular waffles and using a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out these festive treats. Alternatively, you could make heart-shaped pancakes with a mold similar to this one. I added some red food coloring to create pink waffles for an extra festive touch! Chocolate waffles would also be a delicious addition! My yeast belgian waffles would be perfect for this valentine’s day brunch board!

Fresh fruit

Fresh berries are a must-have on any Valentine breakfast board! I chose red berries and fruit for a valentine’s theme but you could include blueberries, blackberries or any of your favorite fruits on this beautiful board! To add an extra special touch, cut strawberry hearts out of slices of strawberry to add to the board! Heart-shaped strawberries are something the whole family will love!

Chocolate Chips

Chocolate is my love language, so it’s a requirement on this valentine’s charcuterie board. Additionally, Chocolate chips are some of my favorite toppings for waffles or pancakes, so it’s a win-win! These little chips are perfect for filling empty spaces on the board, too!

Whipped cream

Whipped cream is the perfect finishing touch to your heart-shaped foods on this simple Valentine’s day charcuterie board. Its light and airy texture will take your favorite breakfast foods to the next level! Add it to this heart shaped ramekin or smaller bowls on the board

How to Assemble this valentine’s day breakfast charcuterie board

There’s no wrong way to assemble this board, but her are some of my tips to make it asthetically pleasing!

Start with the waffles

A fun way to lay the waffles down is in an s-shaped pattern through the center of the board. They create a movement on the board and draws the eye to the main star of the breakfast charcuterie board.

Place larger items next

Add the bowls and larger items like these ruby red grapefruit halves. They anchor the board and allow the other ingredients to build around them.

Fill in the smaller spaces

The empty spaces that remain can be filled with smaller food items like fruit, chocolate chips and granola. Choose all of your favorite things to include on this breakfast board!
